Preparing for.............?

Today is 28 September 2020.

The month of October will begin in 2 days. If it was all well than as a regular student of 12th standard, I would have filled my HSC Board exam form by now.

Presently I am prepared for nothing.

And absolutely clueless about everything.
My regular Formal Academic year of college has not even begun yet.

Studies, Notes, Practice tests- late night study, early morning revision, everything is at a standstill.

And I'm unprepared for everything.

To study or not to study, to prepare or not to prepare, is the question!

Preparation!

How important this process is, in a person's life.

We have to prepare all the time for so many things, knowingly unknowingly. We are used to do all this.  We plan these & that, so many things. And sometimes there is
pre-preparation also. Some people are fully prepared with things every time everywhere and some are happily unplanned & unprepared.

A person's entry into this world itself is planned.

There are Some events which require too much preparation compared to the actual event.

A Lot of preparation has to be done before any festival. like Ganesh chaturthi, Diwali etc.

A writer takes months or sometimes years to complete his/her project. It takes years of concentration, devotion, research, passion, and a lot of things. Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni – the author of some amazing books like ‘The Palace of Illusions ’ and ‘The Forest of Enchantments - written with a different perspective and presenting the history before us in a very unique way, took almost 10 years to complete her book - ‘The Forest Of Enchantments’ which narrates Ramayana through a female perspective.

You might have seen how patiently the Birds prepare their nests. They collect twigs all day long and finally their tiny home gets ready.

Every Art requires preparation. A singer has to look after so many things before a performance. The sound system, the symphony with musicians, pitch and tone of  voice, the required emotions for the song. A painter before experimenting on canvas paints the masterpiece in his/her mind by colouring and adding the layers to it. Then the paints and other equipments are assembled and given a start. Why, basic things like cooking also requires a lot of preparation.

Many of us start preparing ourselves for the upcoming Sunday. Our whole week goes in planning about how to spend that particular day!

Every thing needs preparation.

What does preparation exactly mean?

Preparation is nothing but the hard-work which we do, the soul which we put into it.

We are been taught as a kid that if you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.

The worth of your success depends on the quality of your preparation. But to devotedly prepare for something you need to know the details about it. Who, what, where, when & how are the significant questions that needs satisfactory answers. Without any knowledge about it, it's impossible to put your heart into your hard work. At the back of my mind I can hear the karma chants from Mahabharat –

“Karmanye Vadhikaraste, Ma phaleshou kada chana, Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani”

Anyways, in my situation I think I should follow Chris Bradford’s quote where he says - “hope for the best, prepare for the worst”
