BREAKING THROUGH BREAK!

Image
Recently I came across the term creative thinking in one of the psychology books. It had many sub-points and one such certain point grabbed my attention. The term was INCUBATION . Now what does incubation exactly mean? It is not at all a strenuous, arduous or onerous Psychological term. It is a phase which everybody feels somewhere sometimes. And I certainly felt that this is it what I was feeling; I was going through. A writer, an artist, a chef, a songwriter, lyricist, editor, any creative person, or just a scribbler like me first starts working on the project but after working for hours we may not get that vibe, that aura, that solution, that exact thing which we are in search of for our project. This initial failure leads to the incubation stage. In this stage we firstly start to avoid doing our work or even may think of giving up. We start focusing on other things which catch our attention and which are usually unrelated to the problem. (Wise words of self experience!) But initi...

Around The "WORD"

Image
It’s so difficult to write.... Everyone feels this, sometimes. From great authors, legends, editors, poets, columnists, freelancers, scribblers like me and also those who can’t write their answers in exam. Almost EVERYONE..... In my case, it’s just that I have many things in my mind. Many things which I have to describe, narrate, recall, recount, express....  I decide – Yes, this is it and I’m going to write it now. But after really and finally writing it I feel – What the hell, how awful have I written, was this that I wished to write actually, I’m so bad at it, blah, blah, blah...... This is the time when frustration covers up. It is said that if you want to write, if you want words to come to you easily from the core of your heart, if you want to dress up the naked blank pages with your designer writing than you have to READ a LOT.  From classics, bestsellers, flops, good ones & bad ones, interesting as well as boring you have to read them and see how they are, what is ...

MY "SPACE"

Image
“I need My SPACE” Many a times our inner, subconscious mind craves for it - ‘My SPACE’  An area which is otherwise empty but your presence makes it special, your simply being there, gives a meaning to it. It’s only yours. It’s between you & you alone. A place where you feel free, calm, stress-free, at peace, at ease from your everyday chaotic schedule.  When we are engaged with our life, we receive & accept it as it is. We all are so much into working, completing never-ending to-do lists that we sometimes forget that we should also be with ourselves, we need to discover ourselves.  May be this space changes as the person grows up. It’s a playground when you are a kid. It’s your college when you are a teen. A quiet corner of home for an adult. It can be just anything. Your very ‘own’ place, making you feel safe, serene, free and happy.  Being at home, with family, close friends makes us feel complete. Yes, we can be ourselves wherever we go. Sometimes, in fact...

Are you CENSORIOUS?

Image
Are you CENSORIOUS? We may deny. But we all are.  Sometimes or all the time. The word sounds too creepy.... In our lucid language it simply means, the one who finds faults in others; who is critical; one who forms opinions; one who is particularly judgemental.  Knowingly, unknowingly, we all judge others. We realise it and most of the times we don't.  Is it fair to judge others? We hardly realise our own mistake and we are all get set ready with our comments all the time. We forget that how much do we know about the person or the incident? What exactly the person is going through; the circumstances, the trauma etc.. We overlook all this facts and start labelling... If the person is reserved he is an introvert; if one is cool with everyone, he is an extrovert; if one cannot express his views, he is timid; if one can't stand for himself, he is helpless; if one is mentally disturbed, then he is depressed......blah blah blah… First impression is the last impressio...

I look at the SKY very often….....

Image
Sky….. I find it very attractive, fascinating. I stare it whenever I am free, in the evenings. And the pretty patterns of the clouds,  so elegant do they look! The sight looks so surreal, that it soothes me to the core. I look at the sky often….. it calms me when I am tense, heals me, soothes me in pain, chills me down in anger and delights me in happy mood….. That’s it’s magic! I call it SKY ADMIRING…. The different shades of pink, violet, purple, orange and many others.  All these myriad shades in different seasons... warm & sunny in Summer, dramatic dark during the Monsoon. Sometimes gray, empty hazy, black predawn, painfully blue, pale rainy, coppery cloudy, softly moonlit, evenly white, washed-out gray, pensive & peaceful, absolutely cloudless... Where do these colours come from? Is it only me or someone else also sees and feels the same like me. What do these images and shapes try to tell me ? I need to know. It urges me to take snaps of the sky. This...

What do we think about, when we do nothing?

Image
I was at home.  Almost three months... Over 100 days. This was the lockdown period. There wasn't any chance to go outside.  And probably if you could, you had to dress like a warrior. Wear all those new accessories mainly the face MASK.  Yes, it's the lockdown gain in vain.  A gift to all. The face mask has given a common look to everyone. A common man look, maybe.  But I also think that the mask has snatched away our identity, Our face. And yes, our smile, of course.  But that doesn't matter.  After all, we smile to make others happy along with ourselves.  Now, let's smile to make ourselves happy. Nevertheless, beneath our mask.  For me, was this lockdown time a period to do nothing? Was it really so? I Ponder, I think. I wonder, and blink.  Auh!  It's really tough to decide.  There were things which I did try, like cooking, painting, sketching, photography, gardening, observing, listening, reading, scribbling some stuff, (jus...
